The Bernier family behind Marché Richelieu Lacordaire

My name is Mélanie Bernier and I’m a grocer!

I never thought it would be such a thrill to say that. Ten years ago, I was shopping at Metro Bigras in Montreal. I’ll never forget that day. It just so happened that the cashier who was packing my groceries was the owner. I congratulated him on his store, and that’s when he said: It’s for sale! That moment marked the beginning of an exciting adventure.

In the past few years, my partner and I purchased Marché Richelieu Lacordaire—a small local grocery store in desperate need of a little TLC. It was love at first sight! Today, I couldn’t be prouder to present our newly renovated Marché Richelieu. We transformed the store to be able to serve you better.

That said, one thing hasn’t changed: our team! I have the privilege of being surrounded by fabulous folks who are always willing to roll up their sleeves. My colleagues are a key part of our amazing work climate and are committed to providing excellent customer service. And I can tell you that I’ve shaken things up more than once!
