Butternut squash gratin


Servings: 4 to 6 servings

Preparation time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 5 mL (1 teaspoon) Selection butter
  • 1 medium butternut squash, peeled, emptied, and thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 250 mL (1 cup) Selection 35% cooking cream
  • 1 mL (1/4 teaspoon) ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 mL (1/4 teaspoon) Selection garlic powder
  • 60 mL (1/4 cup) cold water

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 oC (375 oF).
  2. In a lightly greased square baking pan, layer the squash and onions.
  3. Combine the cream, seasoning, and water in a bowl.
  4. Pour into the baking dish.
  5. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes and serve.
